With a career spanning nearly four decades, Monica Timko-Progar, BSN, RN, ET, CWS, FACCWS, has become a trusted leader in home health and hospice wound care. As the CEO of Timko-Progar Wound and Skin Care Consultants LLC and Treasurer of the Coalition for At-Risk Skin (CARS), Monica blends clinical expertise, executive leadership, and a passion for advancing best practices in at-risk skin protection.

From Nursing Graduate to National Leader
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh in 1983, Monica began her career in nursing before specializing in wound and skin care. Since 1985, she has devoted most of her professional life to the home health care and hospice industry, delivering patient-centered care and guiding teams to improve outcomes for individuals with fragile or compromised skin.
Leadership in Wound Care Excellence
Monica’s influence extends far beyond individual patient care. For 15 years, she served as Corporate Assistant Vice President of Wound Care Excellence for Amedisys Home Health and Hospice Care, one of the nation’s largest providers in the field. In that role, she oversaw the development and implementation of evidence-based protocols, ensuring high-quality, standardized wound prevention and treatment across hundreds of care locations.
A Role at CARS
As Treasurer and an active board member of CARS, Monica plays a critical role in guiding the organization’s mission to protect at-risk skin through education, research, and advocacy. She is committed to equipping both healthcare professionals and caregivers with the tools and knowledge needed to prevent avoidable wounds and improve patient quality of life.
